Your visit to the Telephone Museum begins with a ten-minute introductory video featuring our Founder, Alderic O. “Dick” Violette. He talks about his 50+ year career in the telephone business and all the changes he has seen throughout those years.
Next, you have the option of looking around on your own or taking a guided tour with one of our fun and knowledgeable tour guides (we recommend the tour!). Your tour will begin with a look at Bell’s original invention (the only replicas in the place!) and continue chronologically up to the cell phones of today. We also have an area dedicated to telephone switching equipment featuring a working switchboard from the 1800s and a working Step-by-Step switch from the 1950s. From there you will learn a little bit about the tools and equipment used to build and maintain the telephone system and be treated to whatever revolving exhibits we have on display at the time of your visit.
You should allow at least an hour for your visit and note that there is an admission fee. We take MasterCard, Visa, Discover and good old cash. We also have a small gift shop for anyone wanting to purchase a memento of their visit.
So don’t wait any longer! Join us for a walk down memory lane!
